Quite a few folks have said to me “you gotta be hating the Judge, can’t you go after him” or “you have to give him hell or go to the media”. At the first hearing I was extremely angry with the Judge for allowing my X to move so far away with my Children effectively destroying our family forever. I felt like I got run over by a train. All I could do was stand there like a deer in headlights and take it. At the very beginning of the hearing I asked the Judge “Are we only dealing with temporary issues, temporary orders today” – he said yes.  At the end of the hearing I said to the Judge “At the beginning of this hearing you told me that we are only dealing with temporary orders, yet, everything that came out of your mouth affects me and my family permantely for the rest of my life.” He said, Nothing!

At the end of the second brutal hearing the Judge looked in my direction and started talking at me as he always did. When he was done most of the ill will feeling I had towards him melted away. I could tell that the decisions he made about allowing my X to move my Children all the way across the country wasn’t an easy decision for him to make, he didn’t like making it, he cared about the wellbeing of my Children and he thought he was doing the right thing for them. How can I be angry at someone that is trying to help my Children. I in no way agree with his decision and believe he acted out side of the family court guidelines and common sense but I will direct my anger where it belongs for the decisions that were made that will impact me and my Children for the rest of their lives.
